Cozy cafe on Guadalupe St.. Not far from UT.
Indoors is more on the quiet side. Many people come here to work or study.
London fog tastes like Chai tea, not bad:)
I sat at the bar this morning. It was really fun to sit in front of the baristas and see them in action when it got busy! I kind of got mesmerized watching them pull espresso shots.
It was pretty busy in here, but I was able to find seating alone. They also have a nice outdoor area if the weather is nice. Service was great, latte was delicious, avocado toast was bomb, I do wish it was a little bigger. Overall, great little spot!
The location, staff, coffee, and small bites are all highlights of this place. The staff are very welcoming and get to know the customers on a first name basis. You can often see patrons staying just to catch up with other regulars. It’s a great place for a date, work-from-home day, or for your daily drip coffee. I cannot more strongly recommend!
TLDR: great espresso and lovely place to work.
I had a great cappuccino. They know what to do with the milk! As evidenced by the latte art in my photos.
The steel cut oats were served cold. Maybe that’s a thing and I just haven’t ever had it that way, but I was surprised. Nonetheless, it was really good.
The vibe of the place is lively. It a lot of space available, but it was mid to late morning and I guess that’s to be expected.
In all, well worth the stop.
We usually love civil goat and have been regular customers for 2 years. But I have to say our last visit was disappointing. The girl working the closing shift at the Guadalupe location on Saturday 12/16 should get fired for poor social skills. She doesn’t serve in the interest of the business owner and tarnishes the image of what we believe is a great coffee shop. Her manners, speech, and attitude are too immature to handle the responsibilities she has been tasked with: providing great customer service with honesty, integrity, and poise.
Exceptions are high given than there are many good cafes in Austin; thus, only 4 stars. I was expecting a much better coffee bean, better roast, and consequently better espresso. Civil Goat is pretty average, and overpriced.
Went to Civil Goat Coffee for the first time yesterday, and my experience was great. The store is pretty cute and chic, with a plenty of indoor & outdoor seatings.
It was a Saturday morning and the store was quite busy when I went in. However, the baristas were able to greet us immediately and let us know that he’ll be with us shortly. While waiting to get my drinks, I walked around the store and I really like their taste in interior design. So many cute corners and vintage furnitures.
The drinks I got was London Fog, which I give 8/10. My friend got drip coffee and he really liked it 9/10. Definitely recommend and will come back again.
This is my go to coffee shop. I started coming here regularly because my prior regular spot started serving bad shots. Civil goat is always super consistent with the quality of their drinks. If frank is making your drink it will be immaculate. the only downside is that the actual shop itself is super narrow and it can get busy sometimes but if your coffee shop is busy that means it's good! Civil goat is goated on god
